A Few More Projects

I just want to give a big thanks to Tipnut.com. I was checking around for gift ideas for my son's Aide at his day program and came across Tipnut and their list of 54 Free Apron Patterns You Can Make. It's been a very long time since I've seen anyone wear an apron and thought this might make a cute gift for her. I found this really cute polka dot material which made me see "vintage". This was sooooo quick and easy to make =)

This second apron is white with blue polka dots and contrasting blue with the white polka dots

and this is what Justin decided to do while I worked on the apron - watching him sleep always reminds me of his baby days. Can't believe he's gonna be 24 in a few months

Too Cute Boy Blanket & Pillow
I found these adorable applique squares and with a little creativity this was the end result and I lined the back with white fleece.

Tomorrow we get ready for our holiday treats making - See ya then, ciao =)

Weekend Projects

Rain Rain Go Away!!

With bad weather predicted for the weekend(besides being a little chillly the rain did not come till late Sunday), bad economy (no money for gifts so we are making what we can), a broken van and a 1991 2 door ford escort that uncomfortably accommodates Justin, his wheelchair and myself - we are now opting to hang around the house on the weekends. This weekend we set a goal to work on 3 projects and at the same time entertain each other by singing Christmas Carrols (ok, I did all the singing and not very well I might add...ha ha). Justin had other ideas for keeping me entertained as you can see by the pic =) Our weekend projects consisted of a silhouette pink and black patchwork blanket, a white w/ cherries and red polka dot apron, and a black and yellow (Pittsburg Steelers) knitted scarf.

Project #1 finished - yippeeeeee!!!!!!

Project #2 finished - too too cute =)

Project #3 The scarf for the little Pittsburg Steeler Fan neighbor. I did get this finished (REALLY!!) I just did not get a picture of it =D

This is what Justin thinks of my Christmas Carroling - ha ha ha

This is Justin's idea of entertaining Me - he's so FUNNY!!!

Thank you Justin for always giving me something to look forward to - I Love You BUNCHES!!!!!! Mami

In a few days we will tackle the 7 Days Of Making and Baking Holiday Treats - ummmm Yummmmy!!!

The Weather Outside is Frightful ! =)

Southern California's version of the first winter storm. Cold, wet and windy. Being originally from New York, there is always the dream of a WHITE CHRISTMAS (not saying that I miss the snow). The one good thing 'bout So. Cal is that you can take a drive up to the mountains for your snow cravings and come back home to enjoy 60 to 70 degree weather. Too Crazy!!!!!

2008 Closing Another Chapter

Dear Justin =)

Well my son we made it through 2008. I just want you to know how much you are loved, appreciated and admired. I give thanks for each and every day you are here to share with us, with everyone who's life you touch. You find joy, happiness and laughter in the simplest of things. I have seen you grow in ways no one else can ever see, all they see is your disability. For those whom have had the opportunity to get a bit closer to you, you bring a smile to their faces.

This year's roller coaster ride was a bit more tolerable. You had your rough patches, your struggles, your challenges but your determination and strengths have seen you through another year.

Thank you for being such a BEAUTIFUL YOUNG MAN!!

I Love You - Mom

What's not to love about this little guy =D

Vintage Silhouette w/ Green Minky Dot

I had seen this print at one of my favorite fabric stores and after passing it up on several visits, I finally had to purchase some for a baby blanket. I used the Light green minky dot fabric for the reverse side and lined the inside with quilt batting. I would have done a satin binding around it but mine never come out right (my stitching is always crooked and way off its mark) so I opted for the ruffle on the front. I usually make my blanket in a patchwork style but this fabric already had that look to it. This is what I ended up with. ENJOY =)
